Caption Reality Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Version: 2026-09-14-r1

Caption Reality is operated by Justin Cummins.

This Privacy Policy explains how Caption Reality collects, uses, processes, stores, protects, shares, and deletes information when you use the app and its caption-generation, media, social, subscription, safety, and communication features.

Information You Provide

Caption Reality may process information you provide when creating or using an account, including your email address, authenticated account identifiers, required first and last name, private birthdate, username, display name, profile photo, profile settings, privacy choices, captions, posts, comments, replies, reactions, Stash activity, Crew and Tune In relationships, direct messages, reports, support submissions, Creator Tag settings, and other information you choose to provide.

Photos, Video, Audio, and Media

Normal Caption Reality photo posts and Caption Clips begin with fresh media captured inside the app. The device library is not used to import normal photo posts or Caption Clips. Profile photos may use the supported library exception.

Caption Reality processes captured photos, selected video frames, Caption Clips, Caption Moments, original clip audio, Voice Overs, New Sounds, edits, overlays, captions, and finished media as needed to provide the features you request.

Artificial Intelligence Processing

When you request caption generation, Caption Reality may send the captured image or an appropriate video frame, your selected creation mode and settings, and necessary contextual text to third-party artificial-intelligence or infrastructure providers so the requested caption can be generated and returned.

Caption Clip source audio is not used as the visual-scene input for caption generation.

Generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, unexpected, or nonunique despite safeguards. Review generated content before posting, saving, or sharing it.

Social and Community Features

Caption Reality processes information needed to operate Feed, Discover, People, Caption Now, profiles, reactions, comments, replies, Crew, Tune In, Stash, direct messages, notifications, blocks, reports, moderation, and related community features.

This can include relationships, interactions, impressions, watch behavior, engagement signals, content eligibility, and privacy or safety state.

MomentRank, Analytics, and Service Signals

Caption Reality may process freshness, relationship, media-affinity, engagement-quality, retention-quality, exploration, diversity, negative-signal, impression, performance, diagnostic, reliability, and anti-abuse events to operate MomentRank, improve product reliability, prevent manipulation, diagnose failures, and control service cost.

Ranking does not guarantee distribution, views, engagement, creator status, monetization eligibility, or earnings.

Age Information and Safety

Caption Reality requires a birthdate for account eligibility and age-based protections. Your birthdate is intended to remain private.

Age information may be combined with available platform age signals and visible-content safety classification to restrict mature or adult-tone features.

An adult account birthdate does not override image-safety protections when a visible person may be a minor or their age is uncertain.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. Caption Reality and RevenueCat may receive transaction identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, renewal information, restoration information, storefront pricing, and related purchase information needed to provide Intro, Plus, Pro, and Viral Creator access.

Caption Reality does not require your full payment-card number to operate App Store subscriptions.

Deleting a Caption Reality account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Subscription billing must be managed separately through Apple.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Caption Reality may process device installation identifiers, push tokens, notification preferences, delivery information, receipt status, and destination identifiers needed to deliver supported notifications and route notification taps to the correct in-app destination.

Reports, Blocking, and Moderation

Reports may include the reported content or account, report category, explanation, reporter identity, moderation status, and enforcement information.

Blocking can limit or prevent visibility and interaction across supported Caption Reality surfaces.

Caption Reality may use automated systems and human review for moderation. Depending on the circumstances, Caption Reality may approve, remove, restrict, quarantine, reduce distribution of, or disable interaction with content and may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, policy enforcement, fraud prevention, legal compliance, service integrity, or platform requirements.

Location and Media Metadata

Caption Reality is designed not to publish unnecessary source EXIF or precise geolocation metadata as part of ordinary social-media distribution.

Media-processing systems may remove or avoid exposing source metadata.

Information that you intentionally place inside visible media, captions, profiles, comments, messages, or other content may still be visible to other users according to the applicable privacy settings.

How Caption Reality Uses Information

Caption Reality uses information to create and secure accounts; generate captions and mode-specific results; process, render, save, share, and publish media; operate social and communication features; provide subscription access; apply age and privacy protections; moderate content; prevent fraud and abuse; provide support; diagnose failures; improve reliability and performance; enforce product rules; and comply with legal obligations.

Service Providers and Third Parties

Caption Reality may use service providers for hosting, databases, authentication, artificial-intelligence processing, media processing and delivery, subscription management, push delivery, diagnostics, analytics, security, and related infrastructure.

Those providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to Caption Reality and subject to applicable contractual, legal, security, and platform requirements.

Third-party services may also maintain their own terms, privacy policies, and data-handling requirements.

Apple and RevenueCat

Apple provides App Store distribution and processes eligible App Store purchases and subscription transactions.

RevenueCat is used to help manage subscription entitlement information and purchase status.

Caption Reality may receive information necessary to determine whether a subscription or entitlement is active, expired, restored, renewed, or otherwise changed.

Legal, Safety, and Security Disclosures

Caption Reality may preserve, use, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or lawful process; satisfy platform requirements; protect users or the public; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations; enforce agreements and policies; respond to intellectual-property or privacy claims; or defend Caption Reality and its owner, operators, service providers, or users against legal claims.

Data Retention

Caption Reality retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate your account and requested features, maintain security and moderation records, satisfy legal obligations, prevent fraud and repeat abuse, resolve disputes, preserve service integrity, and support technical recovery.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

Some information may remain for a reasonable period in backups, security records, moderation records, fraud-prevention systems, or legally required records even after other account information has been deleted.

Account Deletion

Caption Reality provides an in-app account-deletion process.

Deleting your account starts permanent deletion of account-associated server data that is eligible for deletion.

Certain security, moderation, fraud-prevention, legal, dispute, or backup records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally permitted.

Deleting a Caption Reality account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. If you no longer want a paid subscription to renew, manage or cancel the subscription separately through your Apple account.

Children and Teen Accounts

Caption Reality social accounts require users to be at least 13 years old. Users under 13 are not permitted to create a Caption Reality social account.

Teen accounts remain subject to age-based privacy, content, communication, and safety protections.

Adult Tone and other mature creative treatment require adult eligibility and remain subject to content-safety controls. Adult eligibility does not override safeguards when a person shown in media may be under 18 or their age is uncertain.

Security

Caption Reality uses authenticated access, server-side authorization, privacy controls, moderation controls, usage limits, and other technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect accounts and information.

No internet-connected service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Keep your password, authentication codes, devices, and account-recovery information secure. Contact Caption Reality promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

User Content and Visibility

Information you intentionally post or share through public or permitted social features may become visible to other eligible Caption Reality users according to the feature and your applicable privacy settings.

This can include profile information, posts, captions, Caption Clips, comments, replies, reactions, creator information, and other content you intentionally make available.

Direct messages and private-account content are subject to the applicable access, privacy, blocking, moderation, and safety controls.

Automated Systems and Content Safety

Caption Reality may use automated systems to help classify content, enforce age and safety protections, detect abuse, operate recommendations and ranking, reduce manipulation, support moderation, and provide AI-generated features.

Automated systems may make mistakes. Caption Reality may also use human review where appropriate for reports, appeals, safety issues, policy enforcement, support, or legal compliance.

Your Choices and Controls

Depending on the feature and your account eligibility, Caption Reality provides controls related to profile privacy, notifications, blocking and unblocking accounts, reporting content or users, profile information, account access, and account deletion.

Additional privacy choices may be added or changed as Caption Reality features and privacy systems evolve.

You can contact Caption Reality at captionrealityapp@gmail.com with privacy-related questions or requests.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Caption Reality may update this Privacy Policy when the product, service providers, legal requirements, data practices, business operations, safety systems, or platform requirements change.

The effective date and version shown at the top of this policy identify the current published version.

Material updates may require users to review and accept an updated legal version before continued access to certain Caption Reality features.
